Instructions about the storage and transportation of thiourea dioxide

As a new type of reducing agent, thiourea dioxide is mainly used as an additive for printing &dyeing industry, composite fiber industry and polymerization reaction, stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride, sensitizers for photographic emulsion, etc. It is a safe substitute for sodium hydrosulfite.

The product is in the form of white crystal. It is slightly dissolvable to water, and insoluble to organic solvent. The solubility in water is 3% at 25℃. The appearance of the product is white loose powders. It is non-toxic, non-volatile, non-flammable, and environmental-friendly.

1. Precautions for storage and transportation:

Maintain the warehouse under cool, well-ventilated and dry status. Avoid moisture, strong sun exposure and rain. The material shall be kept away from heat sources. Otherwise, it may generate oxidation and reduction reaction. To guarantee its performance, the product shall be stored separate with chemical materials with oxidizing ability or alkaline drugs. Handle with care and maintain the package under intact state in the transportation process. Best storage conditions: relative humidity <80%, and temperature <30℃. It is suggested to take cooling and dehumidification measures if the conditions are beyond the above range.

2. Treatment for self-decomposition of thiourea dioxide:

The decomposition of thiourea dioxide mainly refers to the oxidation and reduction reactions of itself. The reaction will not generate any open flame, but will generate smoke of sulfur dioxide. The operator may use yellow sand to cover or use water to cool down them. The operator shall wear gas mask for protection.

3. Handling method for scattering and leakage:

Collect them in time, and place them into a container for sealing.
