Precautions of thiourea dioxide:

I. Emergency treatment for leakage

Isolate the polluted area, and set warning signs in surrounding areas. The emergency personnel are suggested to wear gas masks and chemical protective clothing. Never contact the leaked materials directly. Please use clean shovel to collect them into dry and clean containers with covers, and transfer the containers to waste treatment site. It is also permitted to rinse the ground with massive water, and discharge the diluted cleaning water into the wastewater system. In case of massive leakage, collect and recycle or make innocent treatment

II. Protection measures

Protection for respiratory system: wear gas mask if the concentration in air is over limit.

Eye protection: generally, no special protection measures are required. If necessary, wear chemical safety goggles.

Protective clothes: wear appropriate protective clothes.

Hand Protection: wear chemical resistant gloves.

Others: please get a shower and change clothes after work. The contaminated clothes shall be placed separately, and only use after thorough cleaning. Maintain good hygiene habits.

III. First aid measures:

Skin contact: remove the contaminated clothing immediately and rinse with plenty of running water.

Eye contact: Immediately lift up the eyelids, and flush with plenty of flowing water.

Inhalation: remove the victim from the site to an area with fresh air. Perform artificial respiration if necessary. Seek for medical care.

Ingestion: drink sufficient amount of warm water, and promote emesis. Seek for medical care.

Fire extinguishing methods: spray water, carbon dioxide, sand, foams.
